Katy Perry’s new anthem “Woman’s World” strutted back onto the scene, but alas, it didn’t strut far enough up the charts to make a splash.
In its first full week of tracking, the 39-year-old pop sensation’s latest single didn’t quite make it to the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart VIP lounge. Instead, it had to settle for a respectable yet unspectacular No. 63. It’s like showing up to a party just as the pizza is running out and the only drink left is diet soda.
According to Variety, “Woman’s World” also made a cameo at No. 65 on the Global 200 and a quick hello at No. 47 on the UK charts. Not exactly the royal treatment, but at least it’s got some stamps in its passport!
On the streaming front, things weren’t much better. The song landed at No. 110 on Spotify’s U.S. chart, probably somewhere between a cooking podcast and a white noise playlist, and at No. 58 on Spotify’s global chart. It’s the musical equivalent of getting a bronze medal in a two-person race.
Katy’s previous solo single “Daisies” from her 2020 album Smile blossomed to No. 40 on the Billboard chart before wilting away soon after. Hey, it happens to the best of daisies… I mean, artists.
“Woman’s World” is the first single from Katy’s eagerly anticipated seventh studio album 143, set to drop on September 20. Here’s hoping it shoots to the top faster than you can say “Firework”!
