In a galaxy not so far away, at the swanky Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the legendary Will Smith descended from the skies to perform his new single at the 2024 BET Awards. This happened on a Sunday night (June 30), because even legends need to stick to a schedule.
The Fresh Prince, now a sprightly 55, graced the stage for his BET Awards debut, dropping the beat with his latest jam “You Can Make It.” And he didn’t come alone! He brought the musical Avengers—Chandler Moore, Kirk Franklin, and the Sunday Service choir—because why settle for a solo when you can have an epic ensemble?
Will unleashed this musical masterpiece just two days prior, like a gift from the heavens. The studio version also features Fridayy, because apparently, Will’s new song is so good, it needs an extra ‘y’. Check it out here! (Trust me, your ears will thank you.)
After bringing down the house (not literally, but close enough), Will transformed into a motivational guru. He dropped wisdom like confetti at a parade.
“Nobody gets an easy ride. We all have a cross to bear, but there is wisdom in that fire. And every single moment of your life is a brand new opportunity,” he declared, channeling his inner Yoda. “We are not being punished; we are being forged. Dance in your darkest moments.”
So, grab your popcorn, your dancing shoes, and maybe a box of tissues for those inspirational tears. Check out the full performance below… because when Will Smith speaks, the world listens (and dances).
