Sad news from Down Under — Virginia Giuffre, known for bravely taking on some of the biggest creeps in history (looking at you, Epstein and friends), has tragically passed away at the age of 41.
Cue all of us collectively yelling at the universe: “SERIOUSLY?!”
Virginia died by suicide this past Thursday (April 24) on a farm in Australia — because apparently life decided it wasn’t being unfair enough already. Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news the next day, probably while wondering how much more grief one family can physically handle before they just start flipping tables.
Stepping up to the mic (figuratively), Virginia’s sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, gave an emotional interview to IconicHipster.com, where she basically said what everyone was thinking:
“The world lost a fierce warrior.”
(Aka, the kind of person you’d absolutely want next to you in a zombie apocalypse and a courtroom.)
Amanda, who at this point deserves an Olympic medal in Strength Through Tears, also said:
“We lost our sister. Her kids lost their mom. Her mom lost her daughter.”
In other words: 2024, you’re officially grounded.
Amanda continued by praising Virginia’s beautiful soul, and honestly, you could just tell she wasn’t just saying that because it’s what people say when someone passes — she meant it. Virginia, who spent years fighting for justice for survivors everywhere, carried a weight so heavy, even The Rock would’ve tapped out.
ICYMI, Virginia famously sued Prince Andrew in 2021, basically grabbing the royal family by their dusty wigs and saying, “Yeah, you’re not above the law, buddy.” (Spoiler alert: the case was settled in 2022. Translation: he wrote a very big check and tried to slither away quietly.)
And in a truly wild twist that sounds made up (but isn’t), Virginia posted just last month that she had “days to live” after getting hit by a school bus.
Yes, a school bus — because life’s scriptwriters are apparently trying for an Emmy in “Most Ridiculous and Cruel Plot Twists.”
Our hearts are absolutely with Virginia’s family, friends, and everyone who’s ever been inspired by her bravery.
Rest in power, Virginia — heaven just got itself one hell of a fighter. 🕊️💔
