SNL just got a whole lot louder, sparkly, and unhinged—thanks to none other than Trisha Paytas!
The 36-year-old professional internet tornado surprised everyone by popping up on Saturday Night Live during the Paul Mescal-hosted episode on December 7 in NYC. Yes, Paul Mescal—hot priest vibes turned hot host vibes.
Trisha joined a sketch about 2024’s Spotify Wrapped results, a global event that tells you just how many hours you spent crying to Phoebe Bridgers or pretending to like your friend’s EDM playlist. Enter SNL’s Bowen Yang as the artist of the moment: Satoshi Gutman, an “anti-instrumentalist sound guru” hailing from the very avant-garde streets of Dundalk, Maryland. (No, that’s not where the Met Gala is.)
Paul revealed that this fictional Satoshi was his “most steamed” artist (yes, “steamed,” not streamed—because why wouldn’t Paul make it weird?). The cherry on top? Satoshi’s big hit was a deeply spiritual jam called “Y’all Made Me Celibate.” Imagine Gregorian chants, but they’re… vibing.
In true Spotify Wrapped fashion, Paul whipped out a clip of Satoshi doing his thing. Meanwhile, Satoshi’s “bastard” fans (that’s what he calls them—so chic!) also got a taste of his podcast called Awakenings, because obviously, celibacy gurus need podcasts.
And who was his Iconic guest on this podcast? TRISHA PAYTAS, of course. The queen herself emerged in a blaze of sequins, lashes, and unbothered energy. When Satoshi asked her, “What do we always say, Trisha?” they both solemnly declared: “The best bucy is celibacy.”
Yes, you read that correctly. Bucy. CELIBACY. We’re all just trying to process this wisdom.
So, if you haven’t yet watched Trisha Paytas bringing her full chaotic-neutral energy to SNL, what are you even doing with your Wrapped? Catch her cameo inside! Or, as Satoshi would say, awaken your inner bastard.
