Oh boy, love is on the rocks yet again in Housewives Land! Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave are closing the chapter on their romance novel after a solid 13-year run, giving us the latest Real Housewives plot twist we didn’t see coming—well, unless you’ve watched the show. Or follow celebrity news. Or… well, let’s just say they’re joining a club at this point.
Over the weekend, Teddi—who you might remember as the accountability queen of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills—turned to her trusty Instagram to break the news. In a caption that was equal parts heartfelt and PR-polished, she shared, “After a lot of thought, consideration, and about 17 drafts of this post, I’ve made the very tough decision to file for divorce.” She went on to say her top priority is her kids, adding, “You won’t see my kids on any kind of reality show until they’re at least… 21.”
Teddi also explained why she felt the need to go public, saying, “Honestly, I’d rather stay quiet, but given the fact that every time I sneeze, somebody posts it, here we are. This is my truth, take it or leave it. I just didn’t want the wild rumors that we were starting a new career as co-hosts on ‘Divorced With Kids.’”
The couple tied the knot back in 2011, back when hashtags were fresh and reality TV was… also fresh. Together, they’ve raised three kids: daughters Slate and Dove and son Cruz, while Edwin has a daughter, Isabella, from a previous relationship. And if you’ve watched the show, you know those kids are the real stars, showing off their charm without a single accountability checklist in sight.
So, here’s to Teddi and Edwin for keeping it real(ish) and reminding us that in the Housewives universe, the only thing more common than a friend feud is a divorce announcement. Stay tuned for the reunion special…
