Move over, espresso shots, because Sabrina Carpenter just dropped a bombshell that’s sweeter than a triple caramel macchiato with extra whip! The 25-year-old songbird, fresh off the success of her smash hit “Espresso,” has taken her coffee love affair to a whole new level. On June 8, Sabrina revealed on her Instagram Stories that she’s teaming up with Van Leeuwen to create — drumroll, please — an espresso-flavored ice cream. Hold on to your cones, people, this is going to be epic!
“Available starting JUNE 28th!!!!!” Sabrina exclaimed with the excitement of a kid on Christmas morning. She posted a picture of her hands cradling a blue carton of ice cream adorned with her beaming face from the single’s cover art. If that’s not a reason to scream for ice cream, I don’t know what is!
In a follow-up slide that could make even the sternest of lactose intolerants weep with joy, Sabrina showcased the open carton, revealing swirls of chocolate in a creamy espresso delight. It looked so good, you could almost hear the tiny ice cream angels singing.
“It is that sweet,” she captioned the pic, cleverly nodding to her own lyrics. Because when Sabrina Carpenter makes ice cream, you bet it’s going to be a lyrical masterpiece in a tub.
“Now he’s thinkin’ ’bout me every night, oh/Is it that sweet? I guess so,” she croons in her song. “Say you can’t sleep, baby, I know/That’s that me, espresso.” Well, Sabrina, with this ice cream, no one’s getting any sleep — we’ll all be too busy eating!
Van Leeuwen is playing it cool (pun totally intended) and hasn’t spilled the beans on their Instagram yet, but who needs official announcements when you have Sabrina serving up scoops of joy? This collaboration is a no-brainer, especially with “Espresso” climbing the charts since its release on April 11.
Even superstar Adele couldn’t resist the allure of “Espresso.” During her Las Vegas residency in May, the 36-year-old diva gushed about the song. “As I got into bed last night — ’cause that’s a very late night for me, normally I’m in bed by 9 p.m. — I found myself singing, ‘I’m working late, ’cause I’m a singer,'” she shared, chuckling. Adele singing Sabrina? That’s like a musical double shot of espresso right there!
“That Sabrina Carpenter song! ‘I can’t relate to desperation.’ That song is my jam!” Adele raved. If it’s good enough for Adele, it’s good enough for the rest of us mere mortals.
