Tate McRae & The Kid LAROI Drop “I Know Love” – A Musical Relationship Overshare We Didn’t Know We Needed

Buy Me A Coffee

Lovebirds Tate McRae and The Kid LAROI have decided that simply dating like normal people wasn’t enough—they had to document their relationship in a full-blown duet called “I Know Love.” Because what’s a modern romance without a catchy hook and a streaming revenue split?

The song is part of Tate’s freshly dropped album, So Close to What, which might as well be titled So Close to Oversharing. In it, the duo spills all the adorable, cringeworthy, and oh-so-relatable details of their relationship.

🎶 Lyrical highlights include:
– “You said, ‘No lie, girl, you lookin’ sexy on the magazine, but what you doin’ after the photos?’” (Translation: He slid into the DMs, and she didn’t leave him on read.)
– “We started off friends, how we end up here?” (The classic ‘oops-we-fell-in-love’ trope.)
– “You said it was gon’ be quick, now we’re twelve months in.” (Accidental long-term relationships: a concept.)

While chatting with Rolling Stone, Tate spilled the tea on their studio experience, admitting, “We were a little nervous singing in front of each other.” Which is wild considering they already date each other, but apparently, belting high notes is where things get weird.

At her album listening party in L.A. (where the snacks were probably amazing, but no one reported on them, rude), Tate elaborated on what it was like working with her boyfriend:

“It was hilarious because we never actually take each other seriously,” she admitted. “You know when you sing around your partner, but it’s more like yelling in the car or pretending to be Beyoncé in the shower? Yeah, this was different. Actual studio. Actual pressure. Very stressful.”

Despite the awkwardness, the result is a track full of feels, vibes, and the undeniable fact that when musicians date, we get new songs to overanalyze.
