The movie, directed by David Michôd, dives into the life of Christy Martin, a young gay woman growing up in 1990s small-town Virginia—a place where being yourself was about as welcome as flip-flops in a snowstorm. 🥶
> “Christy’s family was… let’s just say not super cool with who she was,” Michôd explains. “She found boxing as an outlet to express herself—and, you know, channel some serious rage.
