On Sunday (July 21), the 58-year-old Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash took to Instagram, not for another epic guitar solo, but to share a heartfelt tribute to his stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight, who sadly took her final encore at the age of 25 on Friday, July 19.
Now, if you’re not up-to-date on the Slash family tree, here’s the scoop: Slash started dating Lucy-Bleu’s mom, Meegan Hodges, back in 1989. Their relationship had a bit of a backstage breakup but made a rock ‘n’ roll comeback in 2015.
“Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, has taken her final bow in Los Angeles, CA on July, 19, 2024,” Slash posted, probably while wearing his signature top hat and shades.
“Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul,” he continued, proving once again that rockers have hearts too. “The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”
Slash kept the details of Lucy-Bleu’s passing as secretive as his next album, but the message was clear: this was a loss that hit harder than a double bass drum solo.
Our thoughts are with Lucy-Bleu Knight’s family and friends as they navigate this tough time. Rock on, Lucy-Bleu, wherever you are.
