Glen Powell is zooming toward superstardom like a rocket strapped to a jetpack, but he’s not ready to swap his humble name tag for Ryan Gosling’s golden sash just yet.
As Glen’s upcoming film Running Man gears up to sprint into production this November, Hollywood’s whispers are getting louder. TheWrap managed to corner a mysterious, cloaked producer (we assume they were wearing sunglasses indoors, as is Hollywood tradition) who couldn’t resist gushing about Glen’s magnetic charm.
“Glen Powell is absolutely, undeniably, most definitely, probably the next big thing. People actually pay for movie tickets to see him!” the anonymous producer declared, before vanishing into a cloud of smoke. “He’s like the Swiss Army Knife of actors. And, unlike Ryan Gosling, who has a VIP pass to the hearts of female audiences, Glen’s appeal is universal—he’s like a human pizza, loved by both men and women alike.”
Hold the pepperoni! When Glen caught wind of this Gosling vs. Powell comparison, he pulled the emergency brake on the hype train.
“Gosling is a legend. I’m just Glen,” he tweeted, adding enough humility to make a monk blush.
Of course, Glen was channeling Gosling’s unforgettable “I’m Just Ken” anthem from Barbie, because if there’s anything more relatable than being a human pizza, it’s being a guy named Ken in a neon pink world.
So, Glen may be just “Glen” for now, but don’t be surprised if his next role involves a glittery surfboard, an epic sax solo, and a catchy song titled “I’m Just Glen—and Everyone Loves Me Anyway.” Stay tuned.
