Hold onto your funny bones because Seth Meyers is packing up his comedy bag and heading straight for HBO! That’s right, the king of Late Night chuckles is debuting his next standup special on HBO and Max this fall. According to THR, this gut-busting extravaganza was recorded live in June at The Vic Theatre in Chicago, Ill.
In typical Meyers fashion, he joked, “Critics say it’s the special my kids will be talking about in therapy twenty years from now!” Ah, the sweet sounds of future therapy bills.
This isn’t Seth’s first rodeo; his last comedy special, “Lobby Baby,” hit Netflix in 2019, focusing on the birth of his second child. It was a hit, and no babies were harmed in the making (well, except for Seth’s dignity during diaper changes).
Nina Rosenstein of HBO gushed like a proud parent at a talent show, saying, “As longtime fans, we’re thrilled to partner with Seth on his first HBO special. He’s such a charismatic storyteller, and we’ve always loved the way he connects with people on a personal level. This special is endlessly relatable and so much fun to watch.”
So, grab your popcorn and get ready to laugh until you cry—either from joy or the realization that your own kids might end up in therapy someday too!
