Sandra Bullock has been basking in the limelight recently, but she’s taking a rare break from her fame-fest to dish out some birthday cheer for her pal Hoda Kotb.
Hoda hit the big 6-0 this week, and to mark the occasion, The Today Show threw her a shindig on Monday (August 12). During the festivities, Hoda was treated to a surprise video from Sandra, who had just celebrated her own 60th a couple of weeks ago.
Sandra kicked off the nearly two-minute video with, “I had so many dazzlingly witty and uproarious things planned for this message that were guaranteed to make you snort with laughter, but you know what, girl? I’m just too dang exhausted.”
She explained, “I’m beat because I had to climb up that mountain before you showed up so I could scope out the view and see if it was worth your time. It’s like people want us to be terrified of what awaits at the top. Spoiler alert: It’s actually pretty damn spectacular. Like, seriously awesome.”
Sandra continued, “Thanks a bunch for being such a rockstar to so many. The way you juggle your job, adapt to whatever life throws at you, and show kindness even when the universe isn’t exactly reciprocating is nothing short of superhero status. You’re amazing to those you care about, and let’s be honest, we’re all lucky ducks to have you, especially your kids.”
“Happy birthday, my fabulous friend! I’m beyond thrilled to be part of your squad,” Sandra wrapped up. “I’ve set up your bar up here, so we can enjoy the view together. It’s stunning, but I really need you up here. Have the happiest of birthdays!”
