Sam Asghari is here to expose his The Traitors castmate Lord Ivar Mountbatten—and let’s just say, it’s giving futuristic espionage, but make it Downton Abbey.
The 30-year-old actor and the 61-year-old British royal are both competing on Season 3 of Peacock’s hit series, where backstabbing is an Olympic sport and trust issues are a prerequisite. But while most contestants might rely on intuition, social manipulation, or actually watching previous seasons, Ivar had a different plan: He let Artificial Intelligence take the wheel.
In a chat with fellow castmate Dorinda Medley on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked, Sam couldn’t help but spill the high-tech strategy Lord Ivar brought to the game.
“You know, he said something hilarious at the round table and I didn’t expect it. He said, ‘I looked up how to win this game on ChatGPT,’” Sam revealed, possibly still in shock.
Now, let’s pause here for a moment. A literal British royal, casually Googling “How to win at The Traitors” and outsourcing his entire strategy to an AI chatbot? The same chatbot that sometimes gives recipes for cereal with ketchup? The audacity. The brilliance. The unhinged energy.
Sam went on, “And that’s what made me— I think they cut it out of the edits—but I was like, wait a minute, that’s actually kind of genius.”
Genius or not, we have follow-up questions. Did ChatGPT tell him to vote himself out? Did it suggest forming alliances through interpretive dance? Did it tell him to trust Sam, only for Sam to betray him in the next round? We need answers.
But Sam did raise an important point: “Maybe strategizing for this game is a mistake.” Which is code for “Nothing can prepare you for the chaos of reality TV, not even the most sophisticated AI.”
One thing’s for sure—Lord Ivar just changed the game. Next season, expect contestants to be scrolling through ChatGPT, phoning psychic hotlines, and consulting tarot cards just to survive.
Stay tuned for more royal-approved gameplay—or at least, more iconic fails.
