If you thought the 2025 Grammys would be a tame affair, clearly you weren’t prepared for Sabrina Carpenter: Espresso-Fueled Edition.
The 25-year-old pop pixie (and unofficial CEO of Short People With Big Main Character Energy™) took the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Feb. 2) and proceeded to give a performance that was equal parts iconic, chaotic, and probably 90% caffeine.
Sabrina kicked things off with “Espresso,” the song that has single-handedly kept the world’s iced coffee industry thriving. But she didn’t just sing it—oh no, she delivered cheeky, sassy, and mildly unhinged antics like a Broadway diva who’s just found out her ex is in the front row. At one point, she winked so hard at the camera, it probably filed for workers’ comp.
Then came “Please Please Please”—aka, her anthem of desperate, adorable begging—where she spun around in what can only be described as the most dramatic display of tiny rage ever seen at the Grammys. Was she begging the audience? Her ex? The universe? Unclear, but we were emotionally invested.
Oh, and did we mention she’s nominated for approximately a million awards tonight? Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, AND Best Pop Vocal Album. Basically, the Recording Academy took one look at her and said, “Here, have ALL the trophies.”
Bottom line? Sabrina Carpenter just turned the Grammys into her own personal rom-com musical, and we’re all just lucky to be living in her caffeinated world.
