Rosie O’Donnell has officially swapped the land of burgers and reality TV for the rolling green hills of Ireland! And honestly? She’s thriving.
Rosie, along with her 12-year-old kiddo, Clay, made the big move on January 15—just in time to completely dodge the Trump inauguration on January 20. Talk about expert-level timing.
“It’s been absolutely delightful,” Rosie gushed. “The people here? So kind. So warm. So welcoming. I mean, they treat you like you just walked into their kitchen looking slightly hungry, and suddenly you have a full meal, a new best friend, and maybe even an honorary Irish citizenship.”
Now, before you start booking your own one-way ticket, Rosie did admit there’s a tiny bit of homesickness. “Of course, I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss certain things about America—like, I don’t know, maybe the occasional convenience store at 3 a.m. But overall? This move is working for us.”
And if you’re wondering when Rosie might grace the U.S. with her presence again, she’s made it pretty clear: “When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights in America, that’s when we’ll consider coming back.” So basically, don’t hold your breath.
For now, Rosie is living her best Irish life, and honestly? We’re kind of jealous.
