Kandi Burruss is waving goodbye to her peach! She spilled the tea while strutting her stuff at the 2024 Grammy Awards, announcing her grand exit from the 14-season marathon of sass that is “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
“I’ve decided to give the peach a break this year,” declared the seasoned reality star to Variety, as she dazzled on the red carpet at the Crypto.com Arena in the City of Angels. “I mean, come on, it’s been 14 seasons!”
The Xscape songstress went on to spill more juicy details, revealing, “We’ve been lounging around a tad too comfortably. But during that downtime, I’ve been cooking up some major projects, honey! So, watch out, world!”
Kandi confessed that a little nudge from a friend also played a part in her decision to peace out from the showbiz rollercoaster. “You know how it is, right? After some serious pondering, a friend hit me with the million-dollar question: ‘Why are you still doing this?’ And I was like, ‘Hmm, good point!'”
“So, I decided, why not take a breather? I’m hitting pause, baby! No peach for me this year,” she proclaimed, with a wink and a hair flip.
Since wrapping up Season 15 back in September 2023, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” has been on an extended vacay, reportedly due to some behind-the-scenes drama and a quest for a fresh cast lineup. Alongside Kandi, last season featured a fierce lineup including Kenya Moore, Sheree Whitfield, Drew Sidora, Sanya Richards-Ross, and Marlo Hampton.
But Kandi isn’t all smiles about Bravo’s procrastination in getting their act together for Season 16. Venting her frustration during an Amazon Live gig, she exclaimed, “Seriously, Bravo, get it together! We’re all twiddling our thumbs over here, waiting for some action! People have lives, you know? We’ve got dinner dates, spa appointments, world domination plans – you name it!”
