Rachel Zegler is out here belting like her rent depends on it! The 23-year-old star of Disney’s live-action Snow White has a big ol’ song in the movie called “Waiting On A Wish”—and plot twist: there’s a longer version hiding on the soundtrack. Because, apparently, when you’re waiting on a wish, you gotta wait even longer.
This magical little tune is one of the fancy new songs added to the movie by songwriting wizards Benj Pasek and Justin Paul—who, fun fact, have so many awards they probably need a separate house just to store them.
Rachel Zegler: World Tour, But Make It Disney
Miss Zegler has been globetrotting while serenading the masses with this song, proving that even Snow White has a busy PR schedule. She’s performed it in Tokyo at Roppongi Hills Arena (yes, imagine a Disney princess in Japan), in Spain at the Alcázar de Segovia castle (which inspired the castle in the movie—so, very meta), and even in Hollywood on Jimmy Kimmel Live (where, thankfully, no dwarfs were harmed in the making of the performance).
Disney Drops a Music Video—Because Of Course They Did
Disney, being the marketing geniuses they are, just dropped a whole music video for “Waiting On A Wish,” filmed at the actual Alcázar de Segovia Castle. That’s right, they didn’t cheap out and use green screens—this is some real estate flex right here.
Where to Find the Song?
If you want to listen to the extra-long version of “Waiting On A Wish” (because, again, patience is a virtue), it’s on the deluxe version of the Snow White soundtrack.
✨ Now go forth, hit play, and pretend you, too, are waiting on a wish—preferably one that doesn’t involve a poisoned apple. 🍎
