Prince Harry Is Heading To The UK This Month To Attend The Wellchild Awards

Buy Me A Coffee

Prince Harry is coming back to the UK this September—again. Yep, the red-headed royal globetrotter is making another pit stop, and this time it’s not for tea with Granny (RIP). He’s headed to the 2024 WellChild Awards in London, where he’ll be rubbing elbows with some of the bravest, most inspiring kids you’ve ever met—basically, he’s meeting the true superheroes of the UK.

Now, in case you’ve been living under a royal rock, Harry’s been the Patron of WellChild for a whopping 16 years. That’s right, he’s been helping out since before most of the kids at the event were even born. In fact, this is his 12th time showing up at the awards, so he’s pretty much the WellChild version of a favorite uncle who never forgets your birthday.

According to WellChild, the Duke of Sussex (a.k.a. Harry “I Quit But Not Really” Windsor) has been an absolute gem, raising awareness, cash, and smiles to improve the lives of seriously ill kids and their families. It’s like he’s a real-life fairy godbrother, minus the wand but with the same amount of magic.

When he’s not busy dodging tabloids, Harry is making sure he has meaningful chats with each winner and their families at the pre-ceremony reception, soaking up their stories, and possibly sneaking in a few dad jokes. He’s also gearing up to present the award for Inspirational Child (aged 4-6)—because if there’s anyone who knows how to handle a crowd of little legends, it’s a guy who survived growing up in Buckingham Palace.

In a heartfelt statement that definitely wasn’t written by his PR team (wink, wink), Harry said: “I am once again honored to attend this year’s WellChild Awards celebrating the remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs.” He continued, probably while balancing a tiny crown on his head, “These incredible young people, along with the dedicated caregivers, nurses, and professionals who tirelessly support them, inspire us all.” Basically, he’s there to dish out high fives and heart-melting speeches.

But wait—there’s more! Before he graces the UK with his presence, Harry’s hopping across the pond to New York City. Between September 23 and 25, he’ll be at the Concordia Annual Summit, joining the Diana Award Foundation for a panel discussion. So, you know, just your typical week for a former prince-turned-full-time philanthropist-slash with a side of occasional podcast host. But hey, at least he’s keeping busy, right?

Harry’s September schedule is jam-packed with meaningful events, heartwarming moments, and probably a few photo ops where he looks just scruffy enough to remind us he’s not that royal anymore. So, prepare for some serious feel-good vibes, because when Harry’s around, things tend to get emotional, inspirational, and just a tiny bit unpredictable.
