Pedro Pascal & Bella Ramsey React to THAT Season 2 Death Like We’re Not All Emotionally Shattered, Thanks a Lot

Buy Me A Coffee

🚨 SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t watched Season 2, Episode 2 of The Last of Us yet, what are you doing here? Go! Run! Flee! And bring tissues. Lots of tissues. 🚨

Okay, now that it’s just us sad people left… let’s talk about that devastating episode titled “Through the Valley”, which ironically sounds like a Taylor Swift breakup song, but is actually the emotional equivalent of stepping on a Lego barefoot while watching your childhood dog walk away into the fog.

So, yes, someone major dies. We won’t sugarcoat it. (Well, we will, but with sprinkles of humor to numb the pain.)

Let’s hear from the heartbroken cast members themselves—Pedro Pascal (our forever internet daddy) and Bella Ramsey (the sharpest, sassiest apocalypse survivor since Ellen Ripley).

“It’s not like they sat me down and were like, ‘Hey Pedro, surprise, you die in episode two!’”
Pedro told IconicHipster.com, probably while clutching a box of tissues and looking like a betrayed Disney prince.

“But we always knew it’d stay true to the game… blah blah blah… death, drama, destiny, etc.”

In other words, he knew he was on the chopping block from day one. Literally. From the first Zoom with co-creator Craig Mazin.

“I love Pedro, but I basically told him, ‘Hi, welcome to the cast! You’re gonna die. Hope that’s cool,’”
Craig said with the energy of someone casually explaining you only get one breadstick at Olive Garden.

Now, Bella Ramsey—sweet, chaotic Bella—also had a BIG reaction. The kind you have when someone cancels your weekend plans but also hits you in the feels.

“I’ve never cried reading something before,” they said, probably while surrounded by crumpled tissues and existential dread.

“It felt like losing a father figure. It wasn’t just acting—it was Pedro. It was us.”

Insert ugly crying sounds here.

Pedro and Bella’s bond, according to everyone and their emotionally wrecked mom, was basically family. Like Joel and Ellie, but with less fungus and more memes. So this episode? Yeah, it hit *harder* than a bloater at close range.

“They love each other,” Craig added, confirming what we already knew from their adorable red carpet interviews and constant banter.

“There are emotions there that transcend the acting.” (Translation: Get ready to sob like your favorite show just got canceled.)

So, what now? We mourn. We scream into the void. We rewatch Season 1 for comfort and pretend Episode 2 of Season 2 was just a collective hallucination caused by expired mushrooms.

RIP to the legend. Joel, you may be gone, but your flannel shirt lives on in our hearts. 🪦🧟‍♂️💔
