Paris Jackson is dishing out some juicy details about her late father, the King of Pop, and his glamorous gal pal, Elizabeth Taylor. In a new BBC docu-series titled Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar, Paris takes center stage to explain why her dad, the “Thriller” legend, picked Liz as her godmother—spoiler alert: it’s not just because of her fabulous jewels!
Paris, now 26 and clearly channeling her inner chatty Cathy, dropped this gem: “I think Dad was all about the spotlight. I mean, I was basically raised by paparazzi and occasional penguins in sunglasses. So, naturally, he chose Elizabeth because, let’s be honest, she understood the whole ‘famous person’ vibe.”
She continued, “I was homeschooled—yes, I was that kid who thought the only normal thing was a school desk that doubled as a snack station. I had zero idea what it was like to hang out with kids my age. I was too busy sipping tea with adults who had stories that could fill an encyclopedia. And guess what? So did Liz!”
Oh, and Paris didn’t hold back when reminiscing about growing up as the offspring of a global superstar. “Listen, I can’t say I speak for everyone under the spotlight, but normal? What’s that? The only ‘normal’ I know is a setting on a washing machine!”
As for the two iconic stars? Michael moonwalked off this mortal coil at 50 in 2009, while Liz, the original diva, sashayed into the afterlife at 79 in 2011. Talk about a legendary exit!
And mark your calendars, because Episode 2 of *Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar* drops on BBC on Oct. 4, and Episode 3 will strut its stuff on Oct. 11. You won’t want to miss it—just remember to keep the tissues handy for all the feels (and the laughs)!
