Pop star Meghan Trainor has done it again! She’s dropped the first-ever live performance of her viral banger “Criminals,” a song so catchy it could probably convince you to commit minor traffic violations just for fun. And where did this historic moment take place? None other than Charlotte, North Carolina, where Meghan surprised fans with a vocal explosion while on her Timeless Tour. Because, why not sing about criminals when you’re known for songs about bass and lips?!
In case you’ve been living under a WiFi-less rock, “Criminals” is the song that plays during a flash mob scene in Netflix’s The Perfect Couple. Yes, you read that right—a flash mob, a trend that refuses to die, much like your neighbor’s love for karaoke. The show itself is a star-studded drama featuring Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber, who are so famous, their combined star power can probably power a small country.
But back to Meghan. She took to TikTok (because where else would pop stars share their every waking moment?) to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at this live performance, complete with dance moves that scream, “I’m having fun, but my legs will hate me tomorrow.” In the video, Meghan and her dance squad recreated some of the original choreography, which, let’s be real, probably looks a lot cooler when you’re not in your living room trying to imitate it after two cups of coffee.

Does Meghan have a calculator on hand to count each audience member? Either way, she confessed to being nervous—because even pop stars get the jitters. But, spoiler alert: it was incredible. So incredible, in fact, that it’s her new favorite song to perform! Forget about all her past hits. “Criminals” is the new sheriff in town.
