Forget everything you thought you knew about Ryan Reynolds, the man who can make a joke out of literally anything, from chimichangas to Canadian stereotypes. According to his 83-year-old neighbor, the one and only Martha Stewart, Ryanโs off-screen vibe is…well, shockingly serious.
In a hilarious and very Martha-esque interview on Bilt Rewardsโ Rent Free game show, she spilled the beans on her Hollywood neighbor, letting us know that Mr. Deadpool himself might be a bit of a dud in the humor department. โYou want to know something?โ Martha teased, probably giving the camera that classic Iโm Martha Stewart, and I know something you donโt look. โHeโs not so funny in real life. Nope. Not funny at all. Heโs very serious.โ
The revelation felt a bit like finding out that Snoop Dogg is secretly a mathlete or that Tom Hanks doesnโt actually love puppies. Martha, however, didnโt stop there. She leaned in, with a knowing grin: โIโm going to get in trouble. Heโs my neighbor.โ
But the queen of lifestyle and craftiness wasnโt totally throwing shade. She went on to acknowledge that even if Ryan is a deadpan neighbor, he still knows how to crank up the laughs where it counts: on-screen.
โHeโs a good actor,โ Martha declared, as if sheโd just come to this groundbreaking realization. โHe can act funny, but he isnโt funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again.โ
So, in Marthaโs view, Ryan Reynolds is a bit of a method actorโdialing up the charm for the screen and dialing it down for the neighborhood watch committee. Hey, Martha, maybe heโs just saving his best material for when you invite him over for one of those epic charcuterie spreads? Just an idea.
