Marisa Tomei is basically the proud aunt at every family reunion who’s been watching Tom Holland and Zendaya’s romance unfold like a Netflix series—except, instead of snacks, she’s got an Oscar, and her family reunions happen on the set of Spider-Man.
During a recent Fan Expo Canada event, the 59-year-old actress (yes, Aunt May is 59, and she looks fabulous, by the way) could hardly contain herself. She was practically glowing like a Marvel character who just found out they got a solo movie. Marisa spilled all the tea about Tom and Zendaya’s love story, and let’s just say, she’s been shipping them since day one.
“I got to watch them grow up and fall in love,” she said, probably resisting the urge to hum the Spider-Man theme song. Imagine playing Aunt May, but also being the unofficial Love Guru of the Spider-Verse. What a gig! She gushed about their talent too—like, she was practically holding a “Team Tomdaya” sign in spirit.
“And they’re just so good at everything,” she added, possibly rolling her eyes at how these two are just overachieving at life. “They sing, they dance, they act, they do stunts, they design fashion…” she might’ve paused to take a breath and wondered if Tom and Zendaya were secretly superheroes off-camera too. I mean, what can’t they do? Fly? Wait, no, Tom’s literally Spider-Man.
Marisa Tomei isn’t just proud of her on-screen nephew; she’s also the president of the Tom and Zendaya fan club. And honestly, same.
