Lucy Hale Is Playing Two Psychologically Unhinged Twins in Netflix’s Dead Letters — So Cancel Your Plans Forever

Buy Me A Coffee

Lucy Hale is back and this time, she’s seeing double.

The Pretty Little Liars alum, skincare queen, and general master of making unwise decisions on screen (and we love her for it), is starring in Netflix’s upcoming psychological thriller Dead Letters. But wait — plot twist — she’s not playing one moody lead character… she’s playing TWO. That’s right. Identical twins. Double the drama, double the trauma, double the Hale.

Now here’s the real tea: this show is being produced by none other than Alex Cooper — yes, Call Her Daddy Alex Cooper, aka the queen of making podcasting sound like a high-stakes therapy session mixed with a girl’s night out. Through her production company, Unwell Productions (iconic name, honestly), she’s stepping into the TV ring and ready to traumatize us all… in the best way possible.

Based on the 2017 novel Dead Letters by Caite Dolan-Leach (aka the book Lucy Hale apparently clutched to her chest and whispered “someday…” about), this series is serving Gone Girl vibes with a splash of wine and possibly a dash of murder.

Here’s the gist:
Ava (Lucy Hale #1) returns to her family’s extremely cursed vineyard (because why not) after the sudden, mysterious death of her twin sister Zelda (Lucy Hale #2 — already judging you from the afterlife). But instead of mourning with a glass of Pinot and a Pinterest board of grief quotes, Ava decides to solve the mystery of who un-alived her sister. Spoiler alert: It’s going to get messy. Like real messy. Family secrets. Identity drama. Probably some ghostly twin energy.

No release date yet, but you know the second it drops, we’re all going full goblin mode on the couch with snacks and conspiracy theories.

So yes, mark your calendars — or just emotionally prepare yourself — because Dead Letters is coming, and Lucy Hale is about to give us two entire personalities to obsess over. You’re welcome.
