Lauren Jauregui just served up a piping hot update on the fate of Fifth Harmony. Spoiler alert: don’t plan the reunion party just yet!
The former “Work From Home” vocalist, now 28 and doing her own solo thing, made her mark in Fifth Harmony before the group decided to hit the snooze button indefinitely back in 2018. But fans have been thirstier for a reunion than someone lost in the desert. Everyone wants to see Lauren, Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Camila Cabello harmonizing together again, probably with more synchronized hair flips and intense stares than ever before.
But in a recent interview, Lauren had to break it to everyone gently, like a pop star ripping off a Band-Aid. She explained, “Well… maybe in the future at some point, but not right now.” Translation? Put that “5H is Back” shirt on hold. “I’m definitely focused on myself currently,” she added, likely while checking her calendar, a list of self-care goals, and all those solo projects.
Even so, Lauren didn’t totally dash our hopes into smithereens. Apparently, the friendship is still alive and well—no social media drama or shady subtweets here! “The four of us talk here and there,” she spilled. And she even gave a shoutout to Dinah, who’d had a show recently that Lauren unfortunately couldn’t attend. “I landed too late last night,” she said, proving that jet lag and love can, indeed, coexist.
So, if you’re a Fifth Harmony fan, you can keep daydreaming about a reunion tour—but in the meantime, just enjoy the fact that these ladies are still sharing some occasional group chat texts and maybe the odd TikTok duet.
