Kyle Richards, the reigning queen of reality TV on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” just threw a major bash to celebrate her two-year anniversary of saying “adios” to alcohol.
Taking to Instagram, Kyle, 55, flexed her biceps and her willpower, proudly declaring, “This week was my 2-year anniversary of being alcohol-free (July 15th)! I can remember a time when surviving 2 weeks without my beloved cocktails seemed as likely as finding a unicorn at a grocery store. I’m super proud I’ve managed to keep this booze-free streak alive,” Kyle wrote. “And yes, I know, many folks miss ‘Party Kyle.’ Even my closest friends, with the best intentions, hoped she’d make a comeback.”
She added, “The hardest part? The party poopers who missed the old, boozy me. The people-pleaser in me struggled with that. I realized quickly that my cheerleading squad was more like a solo act. But hey, I’ve dropped enough splits and twirled enough ponytails to know when to exit stage left (okay, maybe I still drop a split here and there. Sorry, not sorry).”
Kyle also hinted at the stormy seas she’s been navigating with hubby Mauricio Umansky, who she split from after a whopping 27 years of marriage in July 2023.
“But, taking care of my mental and physical health has become way more important than being the life of the party,” Kyle penned. “And let’s be real… looking better because I wasn’t guzzling cocktails? Total bonus. But the real prize? Feeling amazing on the inside. I feel like Wonder Woman—strong, energetic, and super grateful for my body. I want to treat it right, just like it’s treated me. Honestly, going through these tough times would’ve been a hot mess if I’d been hitting the bottle.”
“I want to wake up every day feeling like I could wrestle a bear—mentally and physically ready for whatever the day throws at me. Many strangers have told me that I’ve inspired them to kick the booze too,” Kyle concluded. “That makes me do a happy dance and inspires me right back. So, thank you for that. I often think of the Ernest Hemingway quote ‘I drink to make other people more interesting.’ Personally, I prefer my people—and my life—just as they are. AND without the hangxiety ❤️ #alcoholfree.”
