Kim Kardashian is back on her justice crusade—and this time, it’s all about Erik and Lyle Menendez. Yep, the same brothers who’ve been chillin’ (well… not exactly) behind bars for 35 years after you know… that whole thing with their parents.
But Kim, being the queen of rebranding, is seeing things in a whole new light. And who do we have to thank? None other than Ryan Murphy, mastermind behind “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.” Clearly, binge-watching has evolved from weekend fun to full-on legal advocacy for our reality TV icon.
After watching the series and probably texting Ryan Murphy with a few popcorn emojis, Kim felt compelled. So much so that she and Cooper Koch (you know, the actor from the series) went on a little “prison visit.” Think less “Orange is the New Black” and more… “Keeping Up with the Menendezes.”
Kim’s Prison Field Trip and… an Essay?
Kim didn’t just walk away from that visit with a few selfies (we assume). She went home and, surprise surprise, penned an essay! Yes, you heard that right—Kim K writing essays! (Take that, English teachers who doubted her.) And in that heartfelt essay, she urged the release of Erik and Lyle, just in time for a new hearing date set for November 29, courtesy of the LA District Attorney.
Kim: “Second Chances, People!”
Fast forward to the glamorous 2024 Academy Museum Gala. Most people are there to schmooze with Hollywood elites and show off designer gowns, but not Kim. Nope. She’s out there making her pitch for prison reform like it’s the latest Skims drop.
“I just feel like they never got a fair second trial,” Kim told Variety with the passion of someone defending their right to double-park a Rolls-Royce. “Watching the Ryan Murphy show was like, whoa! It opened my eyes to so much about abuse. Like, imagine if no one believed you.”
And honestly… she’s got a point. Can you imagine if no one believed you the last time you said, “I only had one margarita”?
“They’ve Done Enough Time” – Kim K, Esq.
Kim went on to say, “Look, I’m not saying they shouldn’t have done time, but come on—they’ve been in there longer than an iPhone battery lasts.” She argued it’s high time the DA’s office “right the wrong” from back in the day. Because if anyone knows about second chances and public redemption arcs, it’s the woman who turned a 72-day marriage into a lifetime meme.
With Kim Kardashian on their side, Erik and Lyle might just get a second shot at freedom—and honestly, who’s going to argue with someone who’s successfully juggled law school, four kids, and Kanye West?
Stay tuned. This might be Kim’s wildest plot twist yet.
