Justin Baldoni is not here for Blake Lively’s latest courtroom plot twist.
Blake just hit Justin with the legal equivalent of a “nah, I’m good” by filing a motion to dismiss his defamation lawsuit. Her reasoning? A fancy California law that basically says, “If you report sexual misconduct, you can’t be sued for it.” If the judge grants her request, Justin’s case would be tossed out like last season’s designer handbag, and he might even have to foot the bill for Blake’s legal fees. Ouch.
But Justin isn’t backing down, and he’s coming in hot—through his lawyer, of course, because Hollywood feuds are way more dramatic when attorneys do the talking.
Cue the Lawyerly Drama
Bryan Freedman, Justin’s attorney and professional mic-dropper, released a statement that can be summed up as: “Blake started it.”
“Ms. Lively’s recent attempt to eject herself from the courtroom chaos she single-handedly orchestrated is a masterclass in legal gymnastics,” Freedman declared, probably while adjusting his tie for dramatic effect.
He continued, “The law is supposed to protect the innocent, not be used as a Get-Out-of-Jail-Free card for the rich and famous. Blake’s accusations? Total fiction. And much like a bad movie sequel, we will be tearing them apart in court with actual evidence. Stay tuned for the courtroom drama of the year.”
Oh, and in case this legal showdown wasn’t Hollywood enough, Ryan Reynolds also decided to file his own “nope” paperwork to get out of the lawsuit. Because apparently, nothing says “power couple” like synchronized legal filings.
Will Justin’s case survive this legal obstacle course? Will Blake and Ryan walk away unscathed? Will their lawyers end up with their own reality show? Stay tuned.
