Julia Fox is back, and this time, she’s trading in her “Uncut Gems” for a role that’s as juicy as the watermelon she’s probably craving!
On a fine Tuesday (August 27, if you’re keeping track), it was announced that Julia, the queen of iconic red carpet looks and eyebrow-raising interviews, will be starring alongside Ashley Moore and Micaela Wittman in the upcoming LGBTQ romantic drama “Perfect.” The film is directed by Millicent Hailes, who is apparently so perfect herself that she’s making her feature directorial debut. No pressure, Millicent!
So, what’s “Perfect” about? Imagine a scenic-but-rundown lakeside resort in the California mountains where the water is as toxic as some people’s exes (thanks, climate change!). Julia plays a wealthy, pregnant woman living her best life in an escapist fantasy, which may or may not include binge-watching reality TV while sipping mocktails. But things get spicy when she falls head-over-heels for a younger woman, played by Ashley Moore. That’s right, this film is bringing the drama, romance, and probably a few awkward prenatal yoga scenes.
But, hold up! It’s not all smooth sailing at the lakeside love shack. Their whirlwind romance is like a rollercoaster—thrilling, but also full of sudden drops, stomach-churning twists, and a few too many cotton candy stands (metaphorically speaking). There’s an upcoming birth, some wild social events, and clashing values about the world’s uncertain future, all thrown into the mix. Sounds like Thanksgiving dinner with the family, but with better cinematography!
Micaela Wittman will be playing the role of a local who helps Ashley’s character navigate the emotional minefield of dating a wealthy, pregnant woman with a penchant for dramatic love stories. Think of Micaela’s character as the wise GPS that tries to keep the romance from driving off a cliff.
And that’s not all! Lio Mehiel and Debi Mazar are also circling the project like seagulls at a beach picnic, ready to swoop in and join the cast.
Filming for “Perfect” is set to kick off next month, so start prepping your popcorn and your emotional support animal, because this movie sounds like it’s going to be a wild ride!
