Jodie Turner-Smith, our favorite star from *The Acolyte*, and Joshua Jackson, the dashing dude from *Dr. Death*, decided to call it quits last fall. Jodie officially filed for divorce in October, probably after realizing that splitting up was less complicated than assembling IKEA furniture together.
Fast forward to now, and Joshua’s been seen swapping spit with none other than the fabulous Lupita Nyong’o. The two were caught canoodling on a Mexican beach back in March, and let’s be real, they probably looked like a scene straight out of a rom-com.
So, what does Jodie think about all this lovey-dovey beach action? In a recent chat with The Cut, she dished, “Good for them!” She’s basically channeling her inner Oprah here, ready to hand out happiness like it’s a new car: “You get happiness! And you get happiness! Everybody gets happiness!” Because, let’s face it, she’s aiming for that elite level of chill co-parenting that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have mastered. Jodie’s all about that happy family vibe, minus the conscious uncoupling jargon.
During the interview, Jodie also got real about the whole co-parenting gig. She and Joshua share a four-year-old whirlwind of energy named Juno. If you thought managing a toddler was tough, try doing it while also maintaining zen levels of peace with your ex. Jodie’s got her work cut out for her.
“I just have to do everything I can to set Juno up to win,” Jodie said, probably while envisioning her daughter holding a tiny gold trophy for Best Kid Ever. “I need peace, grace, love, empathy, compassion, and maybe a truckload of chocolate. If I embody all these things, I’m hoping they’ll boomerang back to me like a cosmic karma Frisbee.”
Jodie Turner-Smith is handling her ex’s new romance with more grace than a ballerina on roller skates, all while striving to be the embodiment of love and peace for the sake of her daughter. We can’t wait to see what happens next—maybe she’ll start a zen parenting podcast or write a book on how to co-parent like a boss. Until then, we’ll be over here, munching popcorn and watching the drama unfold.
