Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver are diving headfirst into the high-stakes world of… art dealing? Yep, Apple is bringing us The Dealer, a drama series that promises to be an absolute rollercoaster of power moves, class warfare, and artistic temper tantrums.
According to Variety, the show is basically Succession but with fancier lighting, and follows Chastain as an ambitious “super gallerist” (which is just a fancy way of saying ‘art world boss lady’). Meanwhile, Driver plays a gifted but deeply unsettling artist—so, basically, Adam Driver in any movie ever.
This marks Adam’s second-ever major TV role, the first being HBO’s Girls, where he went from “that weird guy” to “Hollywood heartthrob” overnight. As for Jessica, she’s already dipped her toes into Apple TV+ waters with The Savant, proving once again that streaming services just can’t get enough of her talent (and cheekbones).
Will The Dealer be an intense psychological masterpiece? A chaotic mess of rich people arguing about abstract paintings? Or just an excuse to see Adam Driver brood in a paint-stained sweater? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure: We’re watching.
