Jennifer Hudson’s Boyfriend Common Makes An Appearance On Her Show

Things are getting Common-ly romantic over on “The Jennifer Hudson Show!” That’s right, this week’s episode featured none other than J-Hud’s “allegedly, maybe, who’s-asking” boyfriend, the rapper, actor, and smooth-talker extraordinaire, Common!

Common wasn’t alone, though—he brought fellow Grammy winner Pete Rock along to the party (because why not? The more Grammys, the merrier!). Now, in case you didn’t know, Jennifer and Common have been dodging Cupid’s arrows in public since September 2022, and they’ve been playing a game of relationship hide-and-seek ever since. Even when Jennifer literally had him sitting in the guest chair of her show earlier this year, they were still tiptoeing around the whole “Are we or aren’t we?” situation like a couple sneaking into the fridge at midnight.

But things took a spicy turn this time around when Jennifer came in hot with the question we’ve all been dying to ask: “So, Common, what’s all this chatter about you getting hitched? You tryna tie the knot or what?”

Common, cool as a cucumber at a spa day, responded with, “You know what, Jen, your momma’s wisdom hit me right in the feels. She once told me, ‘A man knows what he wants.’” (Cue dramatic music and swooning.) He went on to basically say, “If I’m walking down that aisle, it’s gonna be with you, Jennifer Kate Hudson. No games, no gimmicks, just the cold, hard truth.”

Now, this isn’t the first time Common’s heart’s been doing a Broadway number about Jennifer. Over the summer, he went on “The Breakfast Club” radio show and practically sang her praises like he was auditioning for a rom-com. He made it clear that, while his dating history is probably longer than a CVS receipt, J-Hud is the final destination. In his words, “If I’m gonna get married, it’s to her. That’s it, case closed, bye Felicia.”

Common is not-so-subtly letting the world know he’s ready to put a ring on it. We’ll be keeping an eye on the wedding registry—because when Common and Jennifer finally say “I do,” it’s gonna be the hottest ticket in town.

Now, where’s my invite?!
