Jason Momoa took method acting to a whole new (blocky) level on Saturday (March 22) when he showed up to a Minecraft Movie fan event in Mexico City dressed as his character, The Garbage Man. Yes, you read that right. The man who once played Aquaman is now out here collecting pixelated trash, and we’re kind of obsessed.
The 45-year-old actor rocked a pink jacket straight from the movie and, because he’s Jason Freaking Momoa, casually topped off the look with a llama hat. And not just any llama hat—a Minecraft llama hat. Peak fashion. Met Gala who?
Momoa wasn’t the only one getting into the spirit of things. His co-stars Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Hansen were also there, alongside director Jared Hess. The day before, the squad assembled for a photo call, proving that this cast is chaotic in the best way possible.
Oh, and in case you somehow missed it, the latest trailer for A Minecraft Movie is out now. Go watch it unless you hate joy.
The movie officially hits theaters on April 2 internationally and April 4 in North America, so mark your calendars. And if that’s not enough Jack Black for you, don’t worry—he’s also hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live during release weekend. Expect total mayhem.
Jason Momoa is now The Garbage Man, Minecraft llamas are high fashion, and Jack Black is taking over the world. We love to see it.
