Hailey Bieber’s team just hit us with the ultimate “Girl, please” moment.
The 28-year-old model, Rhode skincare queen, and full-time internet drama magnet was recently accused of sneakily “liking” a TikTok video throwing shade at none other than Selena Gomez and her fiancé, Benny Blanco. Because, obviously, nothing else is happening in the world, and this is the scandal we all need to focus on.
So, here’s what went down: Last month, a TikTok creator posted a video featuring Selena and Benny’s Interview magazine shoot with a caption that basically said, “I don’t know what’s worse: this relationship or these pictures.” (Ouch.) A couple of weeks later, the same creator claimed Hailey liked the video, meaning she must absolutely despise Selena with every fiber of her being. You know, because a single tap on a screen is equivalent to a legally binding declaration of war.
But hold onto your conspiracy theories, because Hailey’s rep just came in swinging.
“This never happened,” the rep told IconicHipster.com, probably while rolling their eyes so hard they saw the back of their skull. “This entire story has been fabricated by a content creator looking to cash in on the same old, tired narrative.” Translation: We are so bored of this, please get a new hobby.
For those keeping score, Hailey has spent years denying any drama between her and Selena, despite the fact that people seem determined to turn them into the modern-day Hatfields and McCoys. (Except instead of feuding over land, it’s over Instagram likes and vibes.)
And in case you forgot, back in December, Hailey actually liked Selena’s engagement post, proving she does, in fact, know how to press the like button without it turning into an international crisis.
Oh, and let’s not forget their legendary photo-op moment in October 2022 when they posed together at the Academy Museum Gala, smiling like two women who are absolutely exhausted by the internet’s nonsense.
Moral of the story? Hailey’s not out here throwing TikTok shade—she’s just trying to run a skincare empire and avoid being dragged into yet another Justin-adjacent controversy. Let the girl live.
