The masterminds behind all the Upper East Side chaos, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, are officially heartbroken over the passing of Michelle Trachtenberg—because let’s be real, who else could’ve pulled off Georgina Sparks’ level of scheming with a straight face?
“We are devastated,” the duo shared in a statement, probably while dramatically staring out of a rainy window.
“Michelle was not just talented—she was so funny and kind,” they continued, proving once and for all that evil characters on TV are usually played by the nicest people in real life. “Her Georgina Sparks went from being a one-season menace to a six-season fan favorite, which just goes to show that sometimes, chaos wins.”
They added, “She was an absolute delight on set. And yes, that includes the times she was plotting fictional destruction in a headband and a smirk.”
Ed Westwick, a.k.a. Chuck Bass himself, has also spoken out—but in true Gossip Girl fashion, you’ll have to wait for the next update to find out what he said.
XOXO.
