Sebastian Stan (yes, Bucky from Marvel, the guy with the metal arm and moody stare) has officially transformed into the Donald Trump for the upcoming film The Apprentice. And the internet is already losing its collective mind. The first clip of this cinematic masterpiece has just dropped, and if you thought Stan’s transition from superhero sidekick to that hair was impossible, think again.
So, what’s happening in this teaser? Imagine this: Sebastian Stan, rocking a wig so powerful it could probably run for office, is getting coached by none other than Jeremy Strong, who plays Trump’s real-life mentor, Roy Cohn. Strong is probably whispering some top-secret tips like, “Okay, Donny, remember to say the word ‘huge’ at least three times. And always, always make it sound like you’ve just discovered fire.”
The Plot Twist You Didn’t Know You Needed
Let’s take a detour into the film’s plot (and yes, this is real): The movie, set in the groovy 1970s, explores the mind-bogglingly unique bromance between Trump and Cohn, who, if you don’t know, was once besties with Senator Joseph McCarthy during the “Let’s Hunt All the Communists” era. If you thought Trump’s Twitter fingers were dangerous, imagine him getting life advice from this guy. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
But wait, there’s more. The film will also feature Maria Bakalova (of Borat 2 fame) as Ivana Trump, Donald’s first wife. Yes, the woman who probably invented the phrase “don’t get mad, get everything.” If this movie doesn’t come with an extra-large side of drama, I don’t know what does.
Mark Your Calendars
The biopic, brought to life by director Ali Abbasi (who must have had the time of his life orchestrating this fever dream), is slated to hit theaters on October 11. So, get your popcorn ready. Or your hair spray. Or both.
