Legendary bedazzled suit enthusiast and piano prodigy Elton John has hit a bit of a snag in the vision department. Yep, the 77-year-old maestro announced that one of his eyes has decided to take a bit of a vacation—leaving him with limited vision in just one eye.
Elton, never one to shy away from spilling the tea (or in this case, eye drops), took to Instagram to share the news with his fans. He wrote:
“Over the summer, my eye has been acting like it’s got a starring role in Les Misérables. It decided to give me a severe infection, and now I’ve got limited vision in one eye. I’m healing, but my eye is really taking its sweet time. Apparently, it’s on ‘rockstar recovery speed,’ so it’s going to be a while. Huge shoutout to my squad of doctors, nurses, and my fabulous family for making sure I don’t accidentally put my sunglasses on upside down.”
The eye saga doesn’t stop there! Elton added that he’s been spending his summer “recuperating at home,” which we can only imagine involves a lot of extravagant robes, glittery slippers, and a piano-shaped pool.
But even with one eye taking an extended holiday, Elton isn’t letting anything slow him down! The man is still heading to Toronto for the premiere of his new documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late. Clearly, this rock ‘n roll titan is too cool for full binocular vision.
So, even if one of his eyes is off doing its own thing, Elton’s still hitting all the right notes—and we’re cheering for his recovery with one hand in the air and the other holding a sparkly pair of oversized glasses.
Best wishes to Elton and his temporarily “on strike” eye! 👁️✨
