Talk about ringing in the New Year with a bang! Diplo, the globe-trotting DJ and producer extraordinaire, decided to spice things up on CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live 2025 broadcast. Not with a killer remix, but with a revelation so wild it left Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper in fits of laughter—and probably a little concerned.
Appearing via video call from sunny Los Angeles, Diplo, 46, joined Andy and Anderson, the kings of chaotic New Year’s TV energy. Naturally, Andy—our resident “ask the question no one dares to” guy—couldn’t resist grilling Diplo about his LSD adventures.
“So, Diplo,” Andy said, brimming with curiosity, “what’s the most conventional place you’ve ever done LSD?”
Without missing a beat, Diplo casually replied, “Right now.”
Cue Anderson’s laugh explosion. Meanwhile, Andy looked like he wasn’t sure if he should laugh, gasp, or call HR.
“Right now?!” Andy exclaimed, his voice reaching a pitch only dolphins could hear. Diplo, ever the chill vibe maestro, added with a shrug, “Yeah, I took some in the helicopter on the way here. But it’s, like, a light trip.”
A light trip, he says. Because apparently, Diplo’s idea of pre-show prep involves a little altitude and a lot of attitude.
“I’m not even lying,” Diplo insisted, doubling down while Andy’s eyes widened to the size of disco balls.
“You’re tripping right now?!” Andy blurted out, looking like he just realized he might’ve booked himself into a New Year’s Eve acid flashback special.
Anderson, valiantly trying to be the voice of reason (as if that’s ever worked), chimed in, “Are you…microdosing?”
“Well, yeah, a little,” Diplo admitted with the nonchalance of someone talking about their morning coffee. “But I *might’ve macrodosed earlier today, though.”
Might’ve macrodosed is now the understatement of 2025. Somewhere, CNN’s legal team probably started drafting a “Views Expressed Are Not Endorsed by This Network” disclaimer faster than you can say “Happy New Year.”
