Dax Shepard is finally setting the record straight on the wild rumor that he and his wife, Kristen Bell, are secretly the King and Queen of Hollywood Swinging.
During the Season 5 premiere of The Drew Barrymore Show, where the topic of the hour was apparently tabloid gossip, Dax had to laugh off the idea that they were throwing swinging soirées like it was a new fitness craze.
“Apparently, we were supposedly hosting these extravagant swinger parties,” he said, chuckling. “And you know what’s the best part? We got bombarded with texts from friends asking, ‘Hey, how come we weren’t invited to your wild swinger bash?’ Like, ‘What’s up with that?’”
Dax mentioned that while their friends were just having a good-natured laugh because they know the truth, he really appreciated the playful banter.
He recalled, “Receiving a text from Jimmy Kimmel, who was like, ‘I’m deeply hurt that Molly and I didn’t make the swinger guest list,’ was just hilarious.”
When asked if there’s a fantasy couple they’d want to share a bed with—because apparently that’s a normal question to ask—Dax just shrugged and said no way.
“There are lots of hot couples out there, but no, we’re not looking to get into any swinger situations. You know who we’re actually obsessed with? Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen,” he gushed. “They are so adorable together; it’s like we want to move into their marriage and just live there. It’s not about Kristen wanting to drag me into their life or me wanting to drag her—it’s more like we just want to be their third wheel!”
