Chris Hemsworth has one major regret in life—no, it’s not signing up for Thor: Love and Thunder—it’s taking a selfie with Billie Eilish at the Oscars.
The Asgardian heartthrob and his wife, Elsa Pataky, innocently snapped a pic with Billie on the 2024 Oscars red carpet, but Chris now wishes he could hop on a Bifrost and erase that moment from existence.
“I got a photo with Billie Eilish at the Oscars, and I remember thinking, ‘Ah, don’t do it, don’t do it,’” Chris admitted during an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Because nothing says regret like having photographic proof of your downfall.
The interview, apparently filmed last year (Hollywood time travel is real), was only just released, meaning Chris had plenty of time to stew over this traumatic event.
“I was like, ‘No, my kids are going to love this.’ And then the moment I took it, I was like, ‘I went from respected actor to just another Billie Eilish fanboy,’” he lamented, possibly while clutching his Mjölnir-shaped tissues. “We will never be friends, never be best friends.”
Colbert, sensing the existential crisis, asked if Chris and Billie were actually industry colleagues. Chris clarified, “Same industry… kind of… like, we bump shoulders.”
Translation: Chris Hemsworth and Billie Eilish work in the same Hollywood galaxy but exist in totally different universes.
RIP to Chris Hemsworth’s dignity—forever lost in the selfie archives.
