Chloë Sevigny is ready to sharpen her pencil, put on her vintage secretary chic, and dive headfirst back into the world of serial-killer-adjacent scheduling conflicts.
Yep. Word on the Hollywood streets is that our girl Chloë, icon of quirky coolness and indie film dreams, pitched herself to director Luca Guadagnino for his upcoming “American Psycho” reimagining — and she’s gunning to play her original role again. That’s right: Jean is back, and she wants a glow-down.
Let’s rewind: In 2000, Chloë played Jean, the sweet, loyal assistant to Christian Bale’s Patrick Bateman — aka Wall Street’s most homicidal skincare enthusiast. And now that Guadagnino is cooking up a new take on the classic tale of business cards and bloodlust, Chloë wants in.
She told IndieWire:
“I pitched to him that I should play Jean again, and that they do that reverse-aging on me.”
Ma’am. REVERSE-AGING. She’s out here trying to Benjamin Button her way back into a desk job with a potential maniac, and it’s the dedication for me.
Chloë also added:
“I thought that would be something that he would be into, conceptually having the same actress play the same part. But I don’t know. He said he was going to think of something else for me.”
Translation: Luca hit her with the classic “lol maybe” and left her on read.
So, will Jean return? Will we get de-aged Chloë decoding murder vibes and dodging axes? Or will she pop up as a new character — like Jean’s older, wiser cousin who runs HR and has seen some things? Only time (and Luca’s next espresso) will tell.
But until then, Chloë remains that girl — pitching herself into cinematic universes like it’s Shark Tank for former assistants. And we love to see it.
