Channing Tatum has a little secret: he’s a serial set thief. Yes, you read that right. While most of us are nervously pocketing a pen or a stapler from the office (sorry, Susan in HR), Channing’s out here plotting to make off with entire wardrobes.
During a lie detector test with Vanity Fair, our beloved 44-year-old actor was forced to come clean about his kleptomaniac tendencies. And of course, the subject of his brief but glorious appearance as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine came up.
Now, you’d think playing an iconic, card-slinging X-Man would fulfill all his wildest dreams, right? Well, sure… except for one small problem: Channing didn’t swipe his costume. That’s right. The man who usually yoinks his wardrobe from every set left Deadpool & Wolverine empty-handed.
“I was too scared,” Channing admitted, eyes wide, heart probably racing faster than it ever did while dodging explosions on set.
Wait—scared? Channing Tatum? The guy who danced his way through Magic Mike? Scared to ask for a costume? Apparently, even Hollywood’s hunkiest star has his limits.
In a moment of vulnerability, he confessed, “I usually steal the very last outfit I’m in, in every movie.” Yes, Channing, please tell us more about your criminal mastermind ways. But this time, he chickened out. The costume, possibly a tight spandex number, remains locked away in some Hollywood vault, safe from Channing’s sticky fingers.
Let’s hope the next time he suits up, he’ll summon the courage to ask, “Hey, can I take this home? You know, for research purposes?”
