Cassie’s legal squad is speaking out, and they’re not pulling any punches.
In a move more surprising than finding out your grandma has a TikTok account, the team blasted Sean “Diddy” Combs’ apology video posted on Sunday (May 19). This heartfelt act of remorse popped up just days after surveillance footage of him giving Cassie an unwanted lesson in how not to treat people in 2016 leaked.
“Combs’ latest statement is more about stroking his own ego than addressing the mountain of people he’s bulldozed over,” Meredith Firetog, a partner at Wigdor LLP, told Page Six. And trust me, she said it with the kind of disdain usually reserved for someone who eats the last slice of pizza without asking.
“When Cassie and a parade of other women bravely stepped forward, he played the denial card like it was a royal flush,” the statement continued. “He painted his victims as money-hungry opportunists. Like, really? The guy who invented the Remix thinks everyone’s remixing their trauma for cash?”
“That he finally decided to cough up an ‘apology’ only after his denials turned into a steaming pile of busted lies shows his desperation is on par with a cat meme trying to stay relevant,” the statement added. “No one’s buying what he’s selling. Not even at a clearance sale.”
