Sound the alarm (preferably with a tiny Eiffel Tower-shaped megaphone): the “Emily in Paris” squad is coming back for Season 5—but hold onto your baguettes, because someone important is missing.
Yes, mon amis, Camille Razat—aka Camille, aka Emily’s ultra-chic frenemy with a jawline sharp enough to slice cheese—is not listed in the Season 5 cast reveal on Netflix’s Tudum. Tragic! It’s like ordering a croissant and finding out they’re out of butter. Sacré bleu.
Camille (the character, not the actress, although… same person, confusingly) has been Emily’s romantic rival, fashion nemesis, and occasional friend-sometimes-enemy-sometimes-who-even-knows for FOUR seasons. And now she’s just… gone? Did she ghost us? Did she move to an island with no Wi-Fi? Did she finally realize her name is also Emily’s name but in French and just nope out of the entire storyline?
Netflix is staying tight-lipped about it (probably too busy sipping wine and ignoring our texts), and neither Camille nor her reps have confirmed whether she’s truly out or just on an extended European art sabbatical. Classic Camille.
Who’s still on the croissant train, you ask?
Lily Collins is back as Emily, of course—still slaying in bold patterns that offend both the eye and the Parisian soul. Lucas Bravo returns as Gabriel, the hot chef who can’t decide if he’s in love or just really hungry. Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (that boss you love to hate and kinda want to be), and Lucien Laviscount are all on board. Oh, and buckle up for more Marcello, Emily’s new Italian amore, played by Eugenio Franceschini—because clearly, this girl’s passport gets more action than her dating app.
Even Lucas Bravo was like, “Do I even wanna be in Season 5?” last year—but guess what? He’s back, baby. Probably for the wine. And the paycheck.
Filming kicks off in May, starting in Rome (ooh la la turns into mamma mia), before shimmying back to Paris later in the summer. Because why not jet-set while your love life is in flames?
ICYMI: Season 4 ended with Emily being told to open a Roman branch of her fancy ad agency—because nothing says “career growth” like shipping off your least predictable employee to an international office with no supervision.
Also returning? The chaos that is Emily juggling Marcello AND Gabriel while Gabriel tries to earn a Michelin star and possibly some emotional stability. Spoiler: he probably gets the star first.
Lily Collins spilled some tea to Tudum, saying, “Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we want her to finally have work/life balance.” Which, LOL, good luck. Emily hasn’t had balance since Season 1 when she packed 14 pairs of heels for a weekend trip.
As for the Season 5 release date? It’s still a mystery—like what Emily actually does at work. But rest assured: drama, couture, and relationship confusion are all 100% confirmed.
Stay tuned, stay fabulous, and remember: never trust a frenemy named after yourself.
