Billy Ray Cyrus is hollering at daughter Miley Cyrus in the midst of their rumored family squabble.
For ages now, gossipmongers have been buzzing about a colossal clash within the Cyrus clan after Billy Ray, the 62-year-old achy breaky heartthrob, and Tish Cyrus called it quits in 2022.
Even though they were tighter than a pair of skinny jeans during her childhood, it looks like Miley, now 31 and wrecking balls, might be giving Billy Ray the silent treatment. The drama llama really started spitting when Miley accepted her Grammy in 2024 and gave her dad’s shoutout a big ol’ miss.
So, in true dramatic fashion, Billy Ray decided to play peacemaker through the modern marvel known as Instagram on Friday (June 7). He posted a throwback snap of little Miley at the CMA Fest, back when it was still called Fan Fair. Nostalgia alert: baby Miley, Billy Ray, and a sea of fans – it’s practically a country music family reunion!
Billy Ray, feeling all poetic, captioned the photo with, “One of my best memories ever: @cma Fest, back when it was Fan Fair. That’s @mileycyrus and me, surrounded by thousands of incredible fans at the fairgrounds. The next day, someone handed me this picture, and I wrote that poem right then on the bus.” He even dropped a handwritten poem because why text when you can rhyme, right?
He didn’t stop there, though. “I’m incredibly proud of her. She’s a survivor and a true artist,” he gushed, probably with a tear in his eye. “She learned early on to love and appreciate the fans who make everything possible. We both cherish the connection we have with our fans and are grateful for every single one of you! Hope you all have a great Friday! Now rock the country!!!”
Oh, and just to add a sprinkle of extra sentiment, he set the whole shebang to Miley’s song “Flowers.” Because nothing says “I love you” like an Instagram post set to your daughter’s hit single.
As for Miley, she’s keeping it cooler than a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce. No response from her yet, and in the world of social media, that’s like an eternity. Adding fuel to the gossip fire, the two aren’t even following each other on Instagram. Oh, the drama!
