Hold onto your sandworms, because Austin Butler is spilling the spice on his performance in Dune: Part Two!
Picture this: a 32-year-old actor donning the cape of Feyd-Rautha in Denis Villeneuve’s epic sequel to the sandiest saga of 2021.
Now, who’s Feyd-Rautha, you ask? Well, he’s the fierce nephew of Stellan Skarsgard’s Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, a dude so savage that Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan calls him “psychotic” in the film. Yikes, right?
In a recent chat, Austin, our leading man, revealed the top-secret sauce behind his portrayal of this extreme character. Drumroll, please!
“I’ve always been channeling my inner Gary Oldman for this one,” he confessed to NME, name-dropping some of Oldman’s iconic roles like Léon: The Professional, True Romance, and The Fifth Element.
Austin also threw Heath Ledger into the mix, praising Ledger’s playful spirit and leaving us all wondering if there’s a hidden Joker vibe under those desert robes.
“It’s like, not the specific stuff, you know? It’s more like a sprinkle of Gary, a dash of Heath, and a whole lot of Austin magic,” he declared, probably with a cheeky grin.
Austin Butler, the Elvis star turned desert warrior, serving up a spicy blend of Oldman and Ledger with a side of sandstorms. Dune: Part Two just got a whole lot funnier!
