Saturday Night Live is back, baby, and it’s getting ready to blow out 50 candles! That’s right, your favorite sketch show has been around for half a century, and they’re celebrating with a lineup that’s hotter than a microwave burrito at 3 a.m.
First up, we’ve got Jean Smart kicking off the chaos on September 28, proving that she’s not just the queen of TV dramas but also the reigning champion of “Can You Believe She’s This Funny?” And who’s tagging along with her? None other than Jelly Roll—who, despite his name, is not a carnival treat, but a musical sensation. Expect a night of knee-slappers and maybe even some finger-licking good tunes.
Next, on October 5, Nate Bargatze will take over hosting duties. This stand-up comic specializes in being hilarious while looking confused, which is exactly how we all feel watching the news lately. Coldplay will be on hand to bring their trademark emotional tunes, so bring tissues for the tears of laughter—and the emotional breakdown you didn’t see coming during “Fix You.”
On October 12, Ariana Grande returns to the SNL stage for a second time. She’s a triple threat: singer, actor, and ponytail enthusiast. Joining her is the legendary Stevie Nicks, who last performed on SNL when most of us were still figuring out how to work a VCR in 1983. Nicks is back to remind everyone that she’s still cooler than all of us combined.
And hold on to your butts for the October 19 show, because Michael Keaton is swooping in—yes, Batman himself! You know he’s going to nail every sketch, and if we don’t get a Beetlejuice joke, we riot. As if that weren’t enough, Billie Eilish will be there to whisper-sing us into a trance while we try to figure out how someone that cool even exists.
Finally, on November 2, John Mulaney—the king of “I look like I should be an accountant but I’m secretly hilarious”—returns to host. He’s basically SNL royalty at this point. And the musical guest? Chappell Roan, here to make us all regret never taking music lessons seriously.
So, buckle up! SNL is about to bring the laughs, the tunes, and probably a sketch that makes you think, “Did that really just happen?” Yes. Yes, it did.
