Anya Taylor-Joy recently spilled the beans on how her hubby Malcolm McRae popped the question—and Forrest Gump somehow managed to steal the spotlight.
The 28-year-old, who’s gearing up to play Furiosa, shared this juicy tidbit during a hilarious Letterboxd chat about favorite flicks with none other than Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth.
“Forrest Gump, I just adore that movie. It’s like a buffet of emotions with a side of beautiful poetry. They just don’t make ‘em like that anymore,” Anya gushed, probably with a tear in her eye and popcorn in her lap.
Not one to miss a beat, Chris quipped, “Wait, did something magical happen on the Forrest Gump bench?”
Anya couldn’t help but laugh as she spilled the tea, “Oh, you bet! My husband totally proposed to me on the Forrest Gump bench in Savannah. He didn’t plan it—just a happy accident. He’s a Southern boy from Alabama, and I’m, well, blonde. So there we were, Forrest Gumping our way into an engagement. Now, every time I hear that iconic music, I sob like a baby.
