The drama in Days of Our Lives has reached new levels of ridiculousness. You thought you knew what was going on, but turns out, you were bamboozled. Bamboozled, I say!
Our beloved former 90210 star, AnnaLynne McCord, waltzed onto the Days set in June like a mystery wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a soap opera cliché. Fans were SHOOK when her character was “revealed” to be Abigail DiMera, the presumed-dead (of course) wife of Chad DiMera, and previously played by Marci Miller. But as it turns out, this is not the plot twist you were looking for.
Apparently, our girl Abigail had an extreme makeover—I’m talking full-on plastic surgery PLUS the ol’ reliable amnesia trope. Because why just come back from the dead when you can do it while also looking like a completely different person with no memory? It’s Soap Opera 101.
But wait, there’s more! Just when we were about to get comfortable with this wild storyline, the writers were like, “Nah, let’s crank the absurdity up a notch.” Turns out, the DNA test that proves she’s Abigail? FAKE. Yeah, you heard me. The mystery woman is as real as a three-dollar bill. She’s conning poor Chad into believing she’s his dearly departed wife. Chad, my man, you gotta double-check your DNA results with more than just Dr. Green, who, by the way, is fully in on the scheme.
Mystery Lady, sipping tea with Dr. Green like a true villainess, said, “I’m just grateful you were in the right place at the right time.” Yeah, I bet you are! Dr. Green, bless his shady little heart, helped her fake her way into Chad’s life faster than you can say “soap opera plot twist.”
But here’s the kicker: WE STILL DON’T KNOW WHO SHE REALLY IS! This woman could be anyone! She could be your neighbor! She could be your barista! She could be literally anyone but Abigail, and yet here we are, more confused than ever, trying to piece together this mystery while the writers cackle in the background.
Stay tuned, because I’m sure next week’s episode will reveal that she’s actually a time traveler with a twin sister who’s also an alien. Because why not?
