Angelina Jolie is halfway to becoming an entertainment unicorn after snagging a Tony Award!
The Oscar-winning actress took home the award for Best Musical at the 2024 Tony Awards, held Sunday (June 16) at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. It was quite the scene. Think glitz, glam, and just a sprinkle of “Is that really Angelina Jolie on stage?”
Angelina swooped in and picked up the award for her work as a producer on the musical, but she wasnโt alone in this victory lap. She brought her secret weapon: her 15-year-old daughter Vivienne, who worked as a production assistant on the project. Talk about a family business! They both hopped on stage with the rest of the creative team, looking like they were ready to start a mother-daughter Broadway duo.
For those who might have been living under a rock, Angelina bagged her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress way back in 2000 for “Girl, Interrupted.” Now sheโs just a Grammy and an Emmy away from being an EGOT legend. Maybe sheโll drop a Grammy-winning rap album nextโ โAdopting Kids and Taking Namesโโor star in a TV drama titled โAdventures in Hollywood.โ
And for the fashionistas out there: Angelina dazzled in an Atelier Versace gown and a Briony Raymond ring. Because winning awards isn’t enough; youโve got to look fabulous while doing it!
